As a Governance & Control Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening our governance and control framework. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, risk management, and internal control processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in governance to contribute to the continued success and stability of United Texas Bank.
What You'll Do:
- Actively participate in the day-to-day payments monitoring efforts.
- Policies and procedures updates and reviews.
- RCSA analysis.
- Create, maintain, and monitor operational dashboards, including compliance with established SLAs.
- Review required reconciliations and reporting.
- Adhere to existing regulations, Risk Management frameworks and other bank’s policies and procedures.
- Escalation and reporting of potential OFAC matches high risk incidents to 2LoD.
- Review fee exceptions.
- Work with multiple teams to drive strong risk management and operational excellence.
- Conduct transaction monitoring, OFAC & high-risk reporting for the bank.
- Stay current on industry and regulatory requirements and issues.
- Assist the Governance & Control Manager in evaluation of payment processing capabilities for the ongoing development of commercial strategy.
Your Qualifications:
- BA/BS or equivalent experience, with emphasis on Business Management, International Business, Accounting, Finance.
- 5 years’ experience in a financial institution, minimum of 2 years in a control related position (Operations, Compliance, Operational Risk).
- Previous experience with OFAC and /or high-risk transactions control preferred.
- Prior experience monitoring high volume domestic & international transactions.
- Exposure to RCSAs, policies and procedures and other control aspects.
- Working knowledge of regulatory and BSA compliance-related requirements specific to USA Patriot Act requirements.
- Good oral and written communication skills – ability to communicate complex information to all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to complete tasks and projects with minimal direction and meet tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills by effectively researching and analyzing issues while demonstrating sound judgment.
